About CalmCompass
What we do
CalmCompass is an independent, free-to-read library of practical writing on anxiety. We translate ideas from cognitive behavioural therapy, neuroscience, and clinical psychology into plain English you can use the same day you read it.
Our approach
Three principles guide every article on this site:
- Practical first. If you can't try it within 24 hours, we probably won't publish it.
- Honest about uncertainty. Mental health is complicated. We don't oversell.
- Never a substitute for care. We are a companion to professional support, not a replacement for it.
Who we write for
People who experience anxiety in everyday life — at work, in relationships, around health, around sleep — and who want clear, calm, non-clickbait writing about it. If you've ever closed a self-help article feeling more agitated than when you opened it, this site is for you.
Editorial standards
Articles are written to be readable in under ten minutes. We draw on peer-reviewed research, established clinical frameworks (CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based approaches), and the consensus of major bodies such as the NHS, NIMH, and APA. Where evidence is mixed or evolving, we say so.
How we're funded
CalmCompass is supported by display advertising, which is why you'll see ads on the site. Ads do not influence our editorial content. We do not currently sell products, accept sponsorships, or run affiliate links.
